The little sailor of legend is framed by the King of darkness Sahzaman for the treasure of seven seas, and must travel to his realm at the end of the world to retrieve it and save the life of King Nazab.

Light Motif

Light Motif is an experimental computer graphics short film. Light Motif explores the possibilities of synergy between image and music in the cinematic tradition of Oskar Fischinger and visual music animation. The film is based on Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians, Section II. Procedural generation techniques are used to transpose the motifs and compositional processes into a semi-abstract visual form made of colored lights and geometric shapes.

Is their story one of unrequited love at first sight or will their true feelings overcome the powerful attraction of another suitor?

Zapped!

Zapped is based on two characters originally devised as mascots for Rainmaker entertainment, Ting and Juma. Ting, a small energetic alien with attitude, personifies man's technological advances while Juma, an adventure seeking barbarian, represents humankind's inventive nature. Ting and Juma will take audiences on a wild, adventurous ride that begins with Juma being assaulted by a mosquito and Ting, his loyal compatriot, coming to his rescue.

Stumped

When forest-dweller Juma gets stumped while trying to go for a luge ride, best friend Ting comes to the rescue. Together they enjoy a roller coaster thrill and win the race.

Next Door

An old square-headed man tries to watch TV while a little girl makes a playful ruckus outside. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2006.

Palm Springs

This short is about a purple dinosaur named Sigmund, who likes to bounce on top of trees. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2011.

Glens Falls Sequence

Starting in the late 1930s, illustrator and experimental animator Douglass Crockwell created a series of short abstract animated films at his home in Glen Falls, New York. The films offered Crockwell a chance to experiment with various unorthodox animation techniques such as adding and removing non-drying paint on glass frame-by-frame, squeezing paint between two sheets of glass, and finger painting. The individual films created over a nine-year period were then stitched together for presentation, forming a nonsensical relationship that only highlights the abstract qualities of the images. —Kansas City Electronic Music and Arts Alliance

Lajka

Life is not easy for Laika, a dog on the outskirts of a big Russian city. She is caught and forcibly retrained to become a pioneer in astronautics. Soon after her lift-off into space, a number of animals follow that are hurriedly launched from Houston and Baikonur. The animals travel astray, but finally manage, with the help of a black hole, to colonize a faraway planet. After a short period of harmonious, undisturbed co-existence with indigenous life forms, however, first human cosmonaut run ashore on their planet, and their harmonious life, indeed their very survival, are suddenly in jeopardy.
