Solving for Z explores IFMGA guide and father Zahan Billimoria’s relationship to the intoxicating highs and crushing blows of a life in the high-consequence environment of big mountain skiing.

One day in the life of a 50-year-old couple. Blind Krzysztof goes skiing with Wiola, who is his wife and guide. They prepare for skiing in the early morning. Krzysztof mounts bluetooth kits on the helmets that will connect them to each other. They go to the top of the mountain in a chair lift, and the higher they go, the more we learn about their life. At the same time, weather conditions are changing, thickening mist falls on the mountain slopes. When Wiola and Krzysztof finally reach the summit, they must find each other and connect in the surrounding fog. A short documentary about love and passion.

Ski Peru is the story of two skiers’ dream of descending the untamed slopes of Huascaran, although maybe 'Ski Peru and die' would be a more appropriate title given the tragic climax to Peter Chrzanowski’s Peruvian odyssey. Filmed long before today’s adrenaline charged ski videos on heavy 16mm movie cameras there is no heavy rock soundtrack, no helicopters, no roboskiers mainlining powder at Mach 5.0. It is a slow moving film that explores man’s relationship with the mountain and what it is to ski into the unknown.

Mammoth Dreams: The Story of Dave McCoy

This is the story of Dave McCoy, founder of Mammoth Mountain. Hear from Dave & Roma McCoy, Warren Miller, Rusty Gregory and other long-time Mammoth insiders in this documentary on the quintessential outdoorsman - how he came to the Eastern Sierra, why he decided to stay, and how he persevered through every obstacle imaginable to follow his firm belief that the steep mountain on the back side of California's remote mountain range could one day be the world's best ski resort.

The Best of Winter Bloopers Volume 3

In The Best of Winter Bloopers, Vol.3, you'll see inner-tubing, cardboard downhills, snowshoe races, dummy races, pond jumps, dirt skiing, chairlift and rope tow blunders, not to mention some of the most outrageous ski and snowboard crashes ever caught on film. The entire collection is narrated by the master of winter comedy himself, Warren Miller.

Backcountry Responsibility

The recent heavy workload faced by Teton County Search and Rescue crews last winter highlights the fact that some recreational users of the Bridger Teton National Forest are in critical need of more and better information regarding best practices and safe conduct on National Forest lands. Many of these incidents could potentially be avoided with proper planning and critical thinking in the backcountry. In partnership with Friends of Bridger-Teton, TGR presents Backcountry Responsibly, a digital film targeted at the growing number of winter backcountry users whose impact on the surrounding public lands has increased dramatically in recent years. Snow Day

Snow Day' is a documentary film about life, death, and skiing that follows a group of senior citizens on their weekly ski trip in the Colorado Rockies. Full of life, but frequently facing profound adversity, these men and women share stories of love, loss, and personal growth which play out in high contrast to the freedom and athleticism they exhibit on the mountain. It's a film about challenge and ability, revealing these seniors in all their complexity: pleasure in companionship and physical activity, impatience with one's own limitations and the failings of others, and the struggle to come to terms with the losses that are intrinsic to a long life.

Look on the Bright Side

Voleurz’ Look on the Bright Side is arguably the feel good action-sports movie of the year. With their usual blend of happy go lucky snowboarding, skiing and an extensive and technical skateboarding segment, Voleurz’ once again has conquered their quest to do their part in helping break down barriers between action sports with their most unique and entertaining film yet. Voleurz' eighth feature-length film showcases the antics and exploits of the Voleurz family, and features snowboarders and skiers forced against each other in an all out bloodbath. Who will take the throne? Kill Your Boredom highlights include riding from newly appointed Voleurz snowboarder Geoff Brown jumping unique road gaps and adding a double cork in the backcountry to his already heavy bag of tricks; skier Rob Heule shows us what it takes to be skiing’s up-and-coming urban slayer, proving that the infamous 5-kink elbow rail in Calgary is actually possible; and of course, the hilarious and not-to-be-missed Winter Volympics will once again leave your mom asking, “who are these morons?”

Nine Lives Would Not Do

One of the Columbia Valley's most accomplished legends, Leo Grillmair. The film tells the stories of his upbringing in Austria during the 1930s, up to the creation, with Hans Gmoser, of the Canadian Mountian Holidays, the world's first heli-skiing company.

Area 51

In the 1950’s the United States government restricted a 6 by 10 mile block of land somewhere north of Las Vegas. Although the government will not discuss this top secret facility, it has been consistently associated with UFO sightings and conspiracy stories. The reasons for the cover up of alien activity is unclear, but one thing is for sure, the government will do everything in their power to stop the public from knowing the truth. The most probable explanation is that mass panic would ensue if the public knew we were being visited by beings far superior to ourselves. In 1999, TGR exposes AREA 51, a 16mm jib flick that shows skiing’s new generation going bigger than ever and pulling the sickest tricks imaginable. Filmed at competitions and sessions around the globe, this movie has it all.

The Quebec region is surrounded by marvelous sites for winter sports and skiing in particular. Lac-Beauport, Valcartier, Mont Ste-Anne are all places where skiers, beginners or experts, can have a great time. The film, which presents a few descents accomplished by experts, including a team of instructors led by Fritz Loosli, is therefore an invitation to frequent winter sports centers in the Quebec region.
