From the factory producing these shoes in Vietnam to the Arkema site in Marseille classified as a dangerous area because of the bromine, chlorine or ammonia used to transform castor beans into plastic, we are in reality light years away from a product that is good for the planet. The official two-hour review of the 1994 season - a year packed with controversy, triumph & tragedy, and lots of ‘down-to-the-wire’ racing. The season will always be remembered for the tragic accident which claimed the life of one of the all-time-greats, Ayrton Senna in the San Marino round on the Imola circuit. Damon Hill took the number one seat at Williams-Renault from Round 4 on, but the 1994 Championship appeared to belong to Michael Schumacher. But then he lost valuable points in controversial circumstances and had to sit out two races. As a result Hill was able to close to within one point following the rain-soaked Japanese Grand Prix.

On a Friday evening in Lake Placid, New York, a plucky band of American collegians stunned the vaunted Soviet national team, 4-3 in the medal round of the 1980 Winter Olympic hockey competition. Americans couldn't help but believe in miracles that night, and when the members of Team USA won the gold medal two days later, they became a team for the ages. This film explores the "Miracle on Ice" through the Soviet lens. While focused on the game itself, the journey of the stunned Soviet team didn't begin -- or end -- in Lake Placid.

For a moment, it was forgotten that the background of the sporting performance was martial law, censorship, an army on the streets, prisons filled with oppositionists. The performance of the players was so successful that it was called "the most beautiful series of martial law". The game is watched by interned activists of "Solidarity", sports journalists and censors, cutting out all manifestations of the opposition from television broadcasts. We also get to know the performance in Spain from the perspective of the players, trying to meet not only their ambitions but also to bear the burden of fans' expectations and regime propaganda.
