Fuck TV

Fuck TV was a comprehensive and experiential audio-visual presentation comprised of ten episodes. Aired to a passive and unsuspecting audience on San Francisco’s public access channel from 1997 to 1998, each episode of Fuck TV was dedicated to a specific topic, combining video collage and cut-up techniques set to a harsh electronic soundtrack. The resultant overload of processed imagery and visceral sound was unlike anything presented on television before or since. This DVD set marks the first time that this show has been made available since its original airing.

FUCK TV

After concluding the now-legendary public access TV series, The Pain Factory, Michael Nine embarked on a new and more subversive public access endeavor: a collaboration with Scott Arford called Fuck TV. Whereas The Pain Factory predominantly revolved around experimental music performances, Fuck TV was a comprehensive and experiential audio-visual presentation. Aired to a passive and unsuspecting audience on San Francisco’s public access channel from 1997 to 1998, each episode of Fuck TV was dedicated to a specific topic, combining video collage and cut-up techniques set to a harsh electronic soundtrack. The resultant overload of processed imagery and visceral sound was unlike anything presented on television before or since. Static Discharge for Bleeding Eyes

Static Discharge is composed of abstractions created from signal interference. The picture frame is continuously disrupted, as textured lines of feedback distort any form of representation. The flickering movement appears as if fed by an electric current with a faulty conductor - the electronic waves seem to split and repeat themselves without fully transmitting. This is a composition of video noise that creates pulsating tension, a s electricity grinds with flesh, revealing the harsh beauty inherent in a mechanical medium.

It's a Gift

After he inherits some money, Harold Bissonette ("pronounced bis-on-ay") decides to give up the grocery business, move to California and run an orange grove. Despite his family's objections and the news that the land he bought is worthless, Bissonette packs up and drives out to California with his nagging wife Amelia and children.

VIDEO PAL

VIDEO PAL takes place in a shattered reality where all media is incomplete - films without faces, voices lost in distortion. Wholeness lies in seeking the 'Video Demon', a mythical, metaphysical being that completes all media...but demands total submission. Pedro is a young man who begins to be tormented by a mysterious noise coming from the wall of his house, and he is the only one who can hear it. As the days go by, Pedro tries to find out where this sound is coming from in order to put an end to it and discovers that the noise is not actually coming from the wall.
