Forever Shattered

This new documentary will look at how Hamas has used rape and sexual terror as weapons of war, inflicting physical, emotional and psychological trauma on women, children and men. The terrorist group’s attack on Israel on Oct. 7 resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and 250 hostages. During and after the attack, countless cases of sexual violence, particularly against women and girls, were reported and documented at the Supernova Music Festival, as well as the kibbutzims and villages. The documentary will delve into these events though research and investigation, while following the victims’ journeys to recovery.

The Birth of Israel

The Birth of Israel recounts the events that led up to the 1949 Israeli war of independence resulting in the creation of the Jewish state. It features interviews with those who personally experienced the war as soldiers and civilians. It explores newspaper articles and photographs that were in circulation at the time that described the violence that was taking place.

This film analyzes the economic interests underpinning the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis, with a particular focus on the influence of international oil interests in the region. The analysis found here is inspired by the writings of the Palestinian writer and journalist Ghassan Kanafani.

Hasan Hourani, a Palestinian poet and illustrator, died aged 29 in Jaffa while trying to rescue his nephew from the sea. Shortly after, the filmmaker Mais Darwazah discovers his drawings and poems and feels drawn to Hourani's world— a universe outside space and time; a place of wonder, discovery, and freedom. Motivated by this kinship, Darwazah embarks on a journey to her homeland, Palestine: a place she has never known.

Hip Hop in the Holy Land

Edward Said: The Last Interview

Prominent Columbia University English and Comparative Literature professor Edward Said was well known in the United States for his tireless efforts to convey the plight of the Palestinian people, and in this film shot less than a year before his death resulting from incurable leukemia, the author of such books as {-Orientalism}, {-Culture and Imperialism}, and {-Power, Politics, and Culture} discusses with filmmakers his illness, his life, his education, and the continuing turmoil in Palestine. Diagnosed with the disease in 1991, Said struggled with his leukemia throughout the 1990s before refraining from interviews due to his increasingly fragile physical state. This interview was the one sole exception to his staunch "no interview" policy, and provides fascinating insight into the mind of the man who became Western society's most prominent spokesman for the Palestinian cause.

In 2014, during a trip, American Tim Bruns discovered cliffs in a small village five minutes north of Ramallah in Palestine and got to work equipping all the easy routes, then setting up climbing routes so that we can start teaching people how to climb. Bruns and Harris also opened Wadi Climbing, the first indoor climbing gym in Palestine. Today, gathered in the conflict-torn hills of Palestine, a diverse team of Bedouins, activists and urban professionals have embraced climbing as a much-needed respite from the burden of Israeli occupation. American writer and climber Andrew Bisharat visits the West Bank to explore his own roots and the power of climbing to transform lives.
