His daughter Malavika Thampuratti (Ambika) had at one time walked out of the palace after falling in love with Abdul Rahman (Captain Raju) who is crippled in the ensuing clash with her brothers. Sulaiman (Dileep) who has been nurtured in Carnatic classical music by his mother. Sulaiman is persuaded to go to his grandfather's palace to attend an important religious ceremony to remove the impediments to the marriage of the ruler's grand daughter Gopika (Preetha Vijayakumar). Gopika falls for the charm of Sulaiman, alias Unnikrishnan. Finally, history repeats itself, but without real harm being done, when Malavika Thampuratti and Abdul Rahman come to claim their son. The ball is now in the court of the grandfather, whether Udyapuram Palace needs a Sultan or not.

Out of the Blue

Set in an apartment building whose occupants include Arthur Earthleigh, a meek and mild type married to the beautiful-but-domineering Mae; a Bohemian artist, David Galleo and his always-there model, Deborah Tyler; and Olive Jensen, a Greenwich Village type who is always slightly-but-continuously inebriated, and whose motto is "love and let love." She calls on George while his wife is out, and when she passes out during his attempts to get her out before his wife returns, he thinks she is dead and deposits her on Galleo's terrace. Galleo takes advantage of the situation by using it in a blackmail scheme against Arthur, which is shaky, at best, as Olive refuses to stay dead.

Marius is working as a security guard at a cement factory that has gone out of business; he's also squatting in the building, since the plant is soon to be demolished and he'll be needing his money later on. One day, Jeannette happens by the factory, and spotting several cans of paint, tries to take two of them home with her. Marius spots her and tries to chase her away, while she rails at him with curses against the capitalist system. The next day, an apologetic Marius appears at her doorstep, cans of paint in hand; the two soon become friendly, and a romance begins to bloom, though it quickly becomes obvious that Jeannette's romance novel fantasies are a bit off the mark from what Marius has in mind.
