Two and a half years after her departure, the documentary series sheds light on the key years of her career and chancellorship, including Samira El Ouassil, LeFloid, Marina Weisband and Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer. The series focuses on the view of the “Merkel Generation” on the chancellorship of the first woman at the head of Germany.

Everyone remembers their first concert. The lights, the sounds, the smells; they travel with us through time. But what happens on stage contributes to more than just the music we know and love. Stage Left, a docu-series in conjunction with the maker of The Last Blockbuster, invites people to consider the past, present, and future of live entertainment. From their nostalgic past, to their current fight for survival, local venues are being faced with two visions for the future: One in which they close their doors for good, and one where the value of saving these stages starts to become recognized. Full of familiar faces from bands like Foo Fighters, Fitz and the Tantrums, UK's #1 chart-topper Frank Turner, Pepper and more, mixed with the off-the-wall venue characters from these temples of art, Stage Left explores the often overlooked impact of live music and entertainment as told by the people who help create it.

Soul music has conquered the world in the last 50 years - growing from the raw, electric rhythms of the black underclass, it is now a billion dollar industry with R&B and hip hop dominating the world's charts. It's been the soundtrack to some of the most extraordinary social, political and cultural shifts. Together with the civil rights movement, it has challenged white hegemony, helped break down segregation and encouraged the fight for racial equality. This new six-part series, made by the BBC team who produced the critically-acclaimed Lost Highway, Walk On By and Dancing In The Street series, charts the evolution of soul music - with a fascinating combination of rare archive footage and over 100 contemporary interviews. The movers and shakers from the world of soul – such as James Brown, Mary J Blige, Beyoncé and Martha Reeves, - plus some often overlooked talent, track the music that shaped our lives.

Set against 40 years of music history, this six-part documentary series takes a deep dive into the paradox of America’s criminalization of the genre and its fascination with the street culture that created it and still exists within it. Instead of telling the story of hip hop from the top down, this documentary tells the story from the streets up, as it reveals the untold story of how America’s streets helped shape hip hop culture from an expression of survival and defiance into music’s most dominant genre.

Details the fascinating, and often funny, inside story of the technology-driven disruption that changed music during the late-90s and early-2000s. File sharing technology, combined with the insatiable demand for new music, created both the means and the motive for millions of young people to participate in outright theft – and be celebrated for it.
