Charité intensiv

Over the course of one winter, this 4-part documentary series observes an intensive care unit at Berlin's Charité hospital, at the height of the pandemic to date. The films offer an intimate insight into a world on the threshold between life and death, unknown to most. Around the clock, the staff on Ward 43 fight to save the lives of those seriously ill with the novel Coronavirus. Up close and without commentary, "Inside Charité: Covid-ICU 43" tells the story of this struggle in a microcosm that knows neither day or night, populated by glaring lights and beeping machines. Despite high-tech intensive care and immense personal dedication, the staff repeatedly come up against the limits of their human abilities. They are confronted with a completely new disease that can damage the entire body and defies tried and tested therapies. Time and again, the experienced doctors and nurses have to accept the inevitable and let their patients go

Éboueurs

This series follows the hectic and often unpredictable daily life of Quebec’s trash collectors. From dawn to dusk, these heroes of the trash world criss-cross the streets of the city to pick up as much as 25 tons of trash a day. These people often work in hard conditions and under extreme weather. They work non-stop, despite the numerous aches and injuries, to keep up with the schedule. ÉBOUEURS reveals the many aspects of this often undervalued but essential profession, and tells the stories of those who often work in the shadows.

It's spring and fear hangs over west-end Montreal. For weeks, an unknown man has been entering people's homes at dusk and threatening them at gunpoint. He ties them up, robs them and then disappears. Between 2006 and 2009, he committed 13 home invasions, one murder, three attempted murders and one hostage taking; leaving dozens of traumatized families in his wake. Using unusual investigative techniques, the police spend ten years tracking him down. Under the close scrutiny of journalist Patrick Lagacé, the series sheds light on many facets of the story that have remained in the shadows.

The series showcases the hectic workdays of animal paramedics, veterinarians, dog handlers, wildlife experts and animal shelter staff members as they respond to emergency calls in the Montreal area. Featuring dramatic rescues, special transportation methods, intensive care or emergency operations.

An incursion into the lives of emergency physicians from the trauma unit of Montreal’s Sacré Coeur hospital. Throughout the series, doctors, nurses and attendants will provide a look inside their unique work world and share their personal reflections on their very uncommon reality.

This series gives access to the “red areas” of Europe, through the eyes of ordinary people whose lives have been changed dramatically by the global Corona-pandemic. A chorus of voices reveals how the Coronavirus has influenced our psychological and emotional states and has changed the way we live. Italy, that has been one of the hardest hit in Europe by the pandemic is the first port of call in the series, then the focus moves to the rest of the continent, with stories that repeat themselves and yet change in the various countries as different cultures react in various ways to the challenges to our health, work, education, and economy. Pain, anger, fear. But also the hope and desire to fight and change. The feelings and stories of the people who are struggling to contain the pandemic.
