The Perils of Penelope Pitstop is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions that premiered on CBS on September 13, 1969. Extreme is an action adventure series starring James Brolin and centered around a Rocky Mountains search and rescue operation. Debuting on ABC on January 29, 1995, Extreme was the lead-out program which followed the network's coverage of Super Bowl XXIX. The show was unsuccessful and ABC canceled the series after seven episodes aired. The final episode aired on April 6, 1995, with six episodes left unaired. Following the failure of Extreme, the Big Four networks have largely steered themselves away from premiering new programming after the Super Bowl and have instead chosen to run special episodes of their own programming.

The program aired on NBC and was packaged by Jack Webb's Mark VII Limited for Universal Television. John Denver wrote the show's theme song. Robert A. Cinader, executive producer of Mark VII's Emergency!, handled this program also; Bruce Johnson produced.

Rescue 995 is a 20-episode drama serial which debuted on Singapore's free-to-air Chinese language channel, MediaCorp TV Channel 8 in February 2012. It revolves around the medical industry and the life of paramedics. This drama is sponsored by the Singapore Civil Defence Force, which has the real fire and ambulance vehicles and procedures.
