Cheng Zi-dong works as a sales manager for household appliances. He and his girlfriend, Lu Jiayi , are preparing to get married and buy an affordable apartment. Cheng discovers a cheap apartment and plans to buy it with Lu, but they don't have enough money for the down payment. Lu borrows money from her sister, who lives with Cheng, causing tension. Later, Lu's sister joins Cheng's company, leading to more conflicts.

The novelist and columnist Jin Yinzhu (played by Cheng Yuling) is full of fantasy, sensitive and suspicious. After Zhu's parents passed away, they left behind a house and a small amount of property, so they can live comfortably and allow their boyfriend to study abroad. The tenant Wei Lou (played by Feng Weilin) originally loved Zhu, and was very sad about Zhu's death. Seeing his sister appearing, he was determined to help Zhu find out the evidence of killing his wife, which caused a lot of jokes.
