The New Adventures of Gilligan is an animated series produced by Filmation and was aired on ABC during the 1974–1977 seasons. In 1977, the show entered syndication as part of an anthology series entitled The Groovie Goolies and Friends.

The special also commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Shin-chan film series. This is the second time the Kamen Rider Series has crossed over with Crayon Shin-chan, the first time was with Kamen Rider Den-O in Kamen Rider Den-O + Shin-O.
