Takeshi Kido and Kentaro Shiratori are a pair of friends who have been together for almost their entire life. One night, a monstrous being comes out from the lake and starts attacking them. When Takeshi and Kentaro are almost eliminated, a strange being named Kopu calls them and tells them that they are the chosen ones to inherit the power to protect the world from an evil being named Goumon. Now, they join their hands to transform into Barom One, a being with superior skills, who will fight to protect the city.

The story is set in the galaxy located near the center of the universe. There are Planet Aernia (a planet for Heroes) and Planet Orbs (a planet for robots), governed by Orbiton, in this same galaxy. Various countries are present in Planet Aernia; they are, Volculm (volcanic country of fire), Zylan (oceanic country of water), Elvan (green-rich country of forest), and Aleum (celestial country of clouds). Antania, is a nucleus of all the present countries. It has an academy that fosters Heroes. Under the reign of the Governor General, Antania upholds a national policy to train Heroes to prevent Planet Aernia to be infringed by the Dark Desire. Heroes are not only the reliable source of battle who have special abilities to freely use the battle discs, but also a symbol of unfailing justice.

Papuwa is back !It's been already 4 years since Papuwa and Chappi left the first Papuwa Island somewhere in the South Pacific... Kotaro, the brother of the big boss of the gang called "Gamma", is woke up from his long sleep by the call of "Blue Jewel", and sneaks out of the headquarters of "Gamma" to the sea. Being swallowed by the big whirling waves, he is swept to a strange island and found by Papuwa, Chappy and Liquid. This island turns out to be the second Papuwa Island !! While Kotaro is amnesiac, Liquid renames him "Rotaro" and tries to keep him in such condition because Liquid knows that Kotaro is the one who actually destroyed the first Papuwa Island and fears that he regains all his memories some day... Coming through a series of hilarious events and adventures on the island, Kotaro gradually makes friends with Papuwa, Liquid and other strange inhabitants such as Ito-kun and Tanno-kun. But be careful ! Members of "Gamma" are storming the island to get Kotaro back with them...
