It aired on Fox as a 30-minute show and Fox Family as an extended 60-minute show in the summer/fall of 2001 for 13 episodes and is the predecessor of the current show Endurance on Discovery Kids. The show was filmed on Pilaa beach near Hanalei on the island of Kauai's North Shore.

Norland Nannies have been sought after by the rich and famous for over a century. Most recently the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hired a Norlander as nanny to Prince George.
